Cassette Configuration
The Better ATM Services prepaid card form factor is designed to work with most ATMs with very little modification. In most cases, all that is required is a rail height configuration to adjust for the taller card. The image to the right shows the card size relative to a US $20 bill. If you do not desire your ATM to activate and load the cards in real time, then this is the only physical change required to begin selling prepaid cards.
Of course, selling cards requires latent capacity in your ATM, meaning that you’ll need to add a new cassette if you don’t have an empty one today.
Activation Camera
If you want to enable your ATM to activate and load prepaid cards in real time and give your customers the option to select their load value, then the activation camera is a required hardware upgrade. The camera resides inside the ATM and captures the 2-D barcode printed on the Better ATM Services prepaid card product as the card zooms by.
We have engineered camera and mounting solutions specific to each ATM model to ensure that the camera is able to read and decode a barcode on each card. The barcode is repeated multiple times on each card to ensure that at least one barcode can be seen by the camera through the different dispensing mechanisms of each ATM.
The camera installation is quick and straightforward. The bracket and camera are completely unobtrusive to the ATM’s normal operation and do not impede the ATM’s serviceability.
