During a purchase, the transaction is approved by the ATM processor. Then, the ATM contacts the Better ATM Services activation host through a secure connection, requesting that the cards be loaded and activated. Next, the activation host forwards the message to the appropriate card program manager. Finally, the messages flow back in the opposite direction to inform the ATM that the cards are active and ready to be dispensed.
